Plunging into the tub for an hour-long soak reduces inflammation and affects blood sugar levels in ways that mimic an hour-long, reasonably tough workout, experts have revealed.

Experts at Loughborough University recruited 14 men to take part in a study that analyse if passive heating, as opposed to a hot and sweaty workout, improves health.
Half of the men were put on an exercise bike for an hour, while the other half enjoyed a 40 -degree C( 104 -degree F) bath.
Researchers measured how many calories they all burned and their blood sugar levels were monitored for 24 hours afterwards .
While the cylists burned more calories, the blood sugar replies of all those taking part was similar, the experts noted.
