But- instead of turning to junk food for convenience, and concealing himself in his room to play video games- the route he had previously coped with being bullied for his size- Austin decided to do something about it. He went to his Grandma- who had had success with the Atkins Diet- and asked for her help.

By cutting out junk food, feeing a low-carb diet and going to the gym, Austin managed to lose half his bodyweight in merely 11 months.

Snowed in praying this power doesn’t go out

Success is a crazy thing to attain. I don’t think you can ever genuinely prepare yourself for what goes after it. I had no warning , no one told me how difficult things would be once I attained my goal no one prepared me for my life and all its changes. It’s stressful it’s a lot of long nights and no sleep it’s a lot of sacrifice in doing things you don’t even want to do. There’s a lot of people who want to share it with you and act like they were there the entire hour supporting when you know they weren’t. You’re looking at a very exhausted and humbled guy in this image. You’re looking at a kid that overcame so many trials and tribulations. The expectations, the stories, the rumors and the doubters are what motivate me to push forward. Some think this journey is nearing its end………but it’s just beginning

He explained thatthis new regime hasn’t just done wonders for his health, it’s helped his confidence too. But it’s not all been plain sailing. Austin’s extreme weight loss has left him with excess skin that- if he wants to get rid of- he’ll have to have surgery.

On a GoFundMe page that Austin has set up to help with the cost of this, he explains 😛 TAGEND

“I would always tell my friends ‘when Ilose weight Ican’t wait to throw my shirt off and be normal and have abs’ I was crushed to be determined by “doctors ” that its not really a potential without having surgery.”

But above all, Austin’s outlook is positive, and- now 22- he’s hoping to study athletics medication, so he can help others change their lifestyle the route he changed his.

“I have a good understanding and I am passionate about it, he says. I want to tell others you have to learn to accept the failures. I failed many times, but you cant give up.

You didnt gain the weight overnight and you wont lose it overnight either.”
